Sadly, my
fondest
memory of
Evan is my
only one.
How fitting
that it was
during a
Thanksgiving
celebration.
I will
remember
that day for
so many
reasons… but
now, most of
all, I will
remember it
as the day
that I met
Evan
O’Connor. I
don’t recall
the first
thing he
ever said to
me, or the
last. Evan
and Kyra
were among
so many new
friends that
day and
quite
frankly I
was so
nervous at
first that
my only goal
was to speak
coherently
and to not
spill
anything.
Well it
didn’t take
long for me
to feel
right at
home with
everyone
there. What
incredible
people I had
found! I
had never
been around
such a
diverse
group. There
was pure joy
in the air.
It was the
beginning of
some very
special
friendships
that I now
cherish so
deeply.
Most evident of all
was that Evan was
surround by love. It
came from every
direction and he so
freely returned it
to anyone fortunate
enough to have been
a part of his life.
His smile was one of
a old soul in a
beautiful young boy
and I will remember
it, and him,
forever.
