As, I did not know Evan
personally, I was
friends with his mom,
Malani many years ago.
We met at work, and as
business associates our
relationship quickly
grew into a great
friendship.
During this time I was a
single mom trying to
provide a loving home
for my family,
struggling to make ends
meet. It was then that
Lani opened her heart
and her home to me and
my two small children.
There was a need and she
met it. Through the
years we ended up going
our separate ways. I was
never able to fully
repay Lani for all she
had done for us, I don’t
know that it could ever
be repaid, how do you
put a price tag on
kindness, compassion,
generosity and love? It
truly is a season in my
life that I often
reflect on, giving
thanks and acknowledging
that I’m eternally
grateful for her
provision.
When I heard the
heartbreaking news about
Evan’s passing, and with
the understanding that
the circumstances have
no comparison it was my
prayer that in some
small way I’d be able
reach out and help Lani
in her time of need, as
she was there in mine.
Upon reading all the
incredible testimonies
and hearing from others
about Evans love for
life and love for
others, I was humbled,
privileged and blessed
to be able join hands
with an amazing group of
people that love him, as
they formed the Evan
O’Connor Memorial Fund. |

The fund is providing assistance to
those in need and bringing tribute
to Evan’s memory. It is also a
strong foundation of people from
around the globe, reaching out to
offer love, support and
encouragement to Evan’s family, the
ones that instilled those wonderful
qualities of giving, compassion,
friendship, and love, in Evan, his
legacy that will never be forgotten.
For
everything
there is a
season, and
a time for
every matter
under
heaven:
A time to be
born, and a
time to die;
a time to
plant, and a
time to
pluck up
what is
planted;
A time to
kill, and a
time to
heal;
a time to
break down,
and a time
to build up;
A time to
weep, and a
time to
laugh;
a time to
mourn, and a
time to
dance;
A time to
throw away
stones, and
a time to
gather
stones
together;
a time to
embrace, and
a time to
refrain from
embracing;
A time to
seek, and a
time to
lose;
a time to
keep, and a
time to
throw away;
A time to
tear, and a
time to sew;
a time to
keep
silence, and
a time to
speak;
A time to
love, and a
time to
hate;
a time for
war, and a
time for
peace.

3: 1-8
