| In
loving memory of
John and Claire
Marin
Rarely do you find
two people who have done as much for their
community, country, and world as my parents
did.
My father John served
in the US Army as both a drill sergeant,
where he would train the men that would
eventually become heroes in the infamous
battle of Normandy, and as a foot soldier in
the South Pacific, where his heroic actions
saved countless lives. His sacrifice to our
country and our freedom will never be
forgotten. He was one of the greatest men of
our country's "Greatest Generation".
My mother Claire was
one of those people that put everyone else
ahead of her. She has done so many great
things in her life but I am most proud of
her work in sponsoring a Laotian family and
bringing a mother and her 3 young children
to the United States. Thanks to her and a
priest in our local parish, this family was
given hope and a new life, free from hunger,
poverty, and an oppressive government.
