The Evan O'Connor Memorial Fund's very first goal was to award a scholarship to a child that shared in Evan's love of cooking. We are so very happy to announce that Zachary Andrew Hanulik has been awarded  the scholarship for his winning essay.

We wish to congratulate Zachary and we hope that your stay at Chef Kelly's was a memorable and rewarding experience.

We also wish to thank Chef Kelly Q, Dietrich of the Kids Summer Culinary Camp of Vermont for working hard to help us reach our goal.

From the Hanulik Family...
 

I had a great time at the camp. I think it was a fantastic experience for my brother and I. I met a lot of kids there. Their names were Conner and his twin Alex, Aaron, Matt and Charles. I really enjoyed the cooking. Chef Kelly taught us so many things we didn't know. It was a great way for me to do something in the memory of Evan Flynn Macias O'Connor.

Overall I think it was a fantastic experience for my brother and I.

I also had a great time at the camp. I enjoyed doing
what my friend Evan Flynn Macias O'Connor liked. It was a good experience for me going to the same camp that he would of gone to. I made a lot of friends there just like my brother. Chef Kelly taught me a lot of things, and I am now loving cooking more then ever.

Dylan Hanulik

Having my two sons at the culinary camp was a once in a lifetime experience for both of them. It afforded all of us a chance to move beyond the tragic loss suffered by the O'Connor family. My sons were very close to Evan- helping him at school and their after-school program which they attended together. Evan's love of life and cooking will live on in my children and all who follow them in a magical week spent with Chef Kelly and the fine staff of the culinary camp.
