There was an evening no long ago, I was feeling lost in my own skin - confused about living a life I didn't know how to live.  My eldest son Dylan would never know his little brother, Matthew was born 8 months after Dylan passed away.  My heart ached that Dylan wouldn't get the chance he'd wanted for so long - to be a "big brahver".  And worse yet sweet little Matthew won't witness his older brother light up a room or infect a crowd with the giggles. How could I ever express a life so vibrant when words are so bland and make it seem normal for Matthew.  I laid awake night after night, with the turmoil of how to incorporate 'my boys' into the future.

I can't remember if I was on the giving or receiving end of the phone call...but on the other end of the line was a woman I'd never met and knew precious little about.

Before I knew it, we were talkin' away.  This kindred spirit gave me abundant smiles and belly laughs I'm still sore from.  More impressively, by sharing a story with me at that moment, she showered my worries of the future with light, comfort and warmth.

My life, and the life of 'my boys' was changed in that moment, with her story and her smile.  A smile I am appreciative to wear every day and gladly share!!
